1943
Foundation of the School
Dr EP Lekhela School was established as the first secondary school for Blacks in Kimberley, marking a historic moment for the community.
1957
Leadership Transition
Mr. E.P. Lekhela, the founding principal, was promoted to Inspector of Education, and Mr. A. A. Matlhare took over the leadership.
1972
New Beginnings
The school relocated to its current location in Vergenoeg, continuing its mission under the guidance of Mr. T.T. Mokgoro.
1985
Modern Facilities
A new, state-of-the-art school complex was completed, providing enhanced facilities and introducing senior classes.
2000
Academic Excellence
Dr EP Lekhela School achieved record-breaking academic results, becoming a beacon of educational success in the region.
2023
